In this advert the main focus is Lucozade sport which is being represented by Gareth Bale, a player for Real Madrid. Lucozade used to be sold in chemists to help with sickness but they later turned it into a soft drink and have now developed it into a sports drink. They have been very successful and they are one of the most popular sports drink companies in the world. They also do a bit of charity work by sponsoring charity fun runs. They still do sell the medication in some chemists but their main focus would be the drinks that most people know today. The Lucozade sport that is being advertised in the picture with Gareth Bale has an average price of around 95p in most stores. 

The target audience for this drink would have to be sporty type people but with Gareth Bale in the picture, the main focus would have to be footballers because of Gareth Bale being a world class football player. Also supporting my point would be the big quote on the side of the advert, "IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE", shows that they are referring to the league of football. Even on their product it says sport which clearly shows that the target audience have to be interested in sport. The advert would appeal to a sporty person or a footballer as it is an energy drink which helps when you are doing fitness and Gareth Bale drinks Lucozade which would influence footballers to drink it and fans of his.

The evident representations in the advert for Lucozade is that Gareth Bale represents the football community and that the football community recommends that you drink Lucozade while you play football. They have seen that football is a very popular game among people and they have exploited that. The representations have been used because they are very popular in the football world and one of the biggest talents to come out of football so they have used his popularity to sell their products.

I would say that this advert is very successful because of them already being a well known brand so it would have been successful anyway but with Gareth Bale it would increase the sale because of his popularity and him being a famous celebrity with the sporting world. Lucozade sport is still around today which shows that the drink is a very popular drink which is bought by many people.
