Explain how representations in a music videos are chosen to promote the artists

Massive attack use their music to represent them in a way so that they look like normal everyday people. They use their music video to promote this by using Daddy G and 3D lurking in the background in their video but if they weren't pointed out to me, I would never have noticed that it was them so it shows they came from nothing, everyday life to a star but they don't want to be treated any differently.
 Radiohead have used their representation to promote them as the stranger band. The band can use this to promote them to show that even if you are strange or considered strange it can show what you can do and it might inspire people to start a music career or they might like them because it is a bit out of the norm. the mise en scene in a music video has to revolved around the artist because it would be the representation on them and the artist would have a massive say on what can go in the video and what cannot because of how it would represent them. Like in the Radiohead music video they clearly chose the theme of Trumpton and The Wickerman because it represents them in the way that they want because of what they believe will sell and what they believe represents them and the song. The representations are their to also sell the artist so it would be aimed at their target audience so that they would enjoy it as well.
