Newspapers - News Values and Audience Appeal

The Guardian:

In the front page of The Guardian, they start to talk about the Trump stories about Russia. From the front page they look very political and look to aim towards political people and higher educational people. There demographic is mainly older people and higher educational students. The story is about Donald Trump denying the rumors coming  out of Russia when he visited there. The use of  'Fake News' is clearly The Guardian saying that Trump is lying and to save his own skin he is saying it is 'fake news'. Clearly The Guardian does not feel that Donald Trump is telling the truth. this news is relevant to the audience because it is determining the new president of the United States of America. This would appeal to the target audience because it is politics which allows people to debate with the opinions of those who also read it and the opinion of the newspaper. The highlighting of the 'fake news' would make the reader want to read on because of the quoting of those words. The tone of this piece is almost attacking Donald Trump in that they are trying to expose him as a liar but they are trying to do it in a way that they are trying to save America from a huge mistake of making him The President of the United States of America. The whole of the whole article is one sided and against Donald Trump and because Donald Trump has attacked the whole of the media they are replying with force against Donald Trump, maybe because they feel threatened. The ideology of the article has been chosen as it is big news to find out that the President has been  lying to everyone and been blaming it on the media which allows the media to attack back at him. They used it because it appeals to the target audience and encourages debate to whether Trump is right or wrong. They have used an image of Trump looking quite angry to show how he feels and it is almost like they are gloating about how he feels vulnerable.
